What is It's A Child's Life?

It's A Child's Life is a non-profit organization developed amongst a group of friends that have a heart for orphans and feel called to make a difference in childrens' lives through various avenues of orphan care.

"You may choose to look the other way, but you may never again say that you did not know." ~William Wilberforce

WHO?  The founders of this organization are:  Jason & Joely O'Neal, Kent & Cari Denson, Mike & Amanda Williams, and Paul & Ginger Emrich.  Each family feels called to make a change in different ways.  Whether you may have an interest in domestic or international adoption, foster care, sponsorship, mentoring and ministering or just want to know what you can do to help that would suit you best, we are here to help.

WHAT?  We will be hosting our first meeting/get-together to introduce our group and explain what we are here for, why we have decided to start It's A Child's Life  and answer any questions you may have on anything related to helping and support for orphans or for the families that are being called to take them in.

WHEN?  To Be Determined:  our first meeting will be held in January 2011 but the exact date has not been set yet.

WHERE?  H2O Church on the corner of Main St. and Broadway in Ada, OK 74820

WHY?  This is the most important part...Because it is our job to defend the orphans, to take a stand and give a voice to those who don't have one because if we don't, who will?  We know adoption or foster-care may not be for everyone but we also know there are so many ways that anyone can help support those who are called to do so.  Each and every one of us has our own biological children and we know how blessed we are to have them and how blessed they are to have the loving families they have.  We also know how many children are our there today and don't know what love is, don't know that they will have food, clean water, clothing, shelter or anyone to love them from day to day and it breaks our hearts.  We all are burdened for different things in regards to orphan care but we are all in agreement that we need to step up and make a change and want you to help us in our mission to defend those without a voice......and Why Not?

Here are some more answers to WHY???

I will not leave you as
orphans; I will come to you.  John 14:18

There are 147 million orphans and about 2 BILLION proclaimed Christians worldwide  today, If only 7% of Christians had their hearts opened up to adoption, there would no longer be orphans!

26 Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless. 27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. James 1:26-27

If every Christian church in the United States supported 1 family from their congregation to adopt a child from the U.S, there would be no more orphans in the U.S.

Some countries, children are sold into slavery, prostitution or left to take care of themselves if they don't get adopted.  The children in these orphanages have been dealt a bad hand by no fault of their own, but they are the ones who pay the price.

One person cannot change the world by him or herself but it just takes one person to change the life of one child.  Imagine if every adult in this world thought this way and acted upon it?!?
